Outside Sales Representative – South Florida

Company: Crawford Packaging
Location: South Florida, USA
Work Arrangement: Fully Remote/Home-Based with regional travel
Employment Type: Full-Time
Base Salary: $90,000–$135,000 USD , based on experience
Additional Compensation: Uncapped monthly commission and profit sharing
Car Allowance: $6,000 annually

Company Overview

Crawford Packaging is an established North American provider of packaging materials, packaging machinery, automation, and technical solutions. Headquartered in Canada, the company supports customers across the produce, food-processing, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.

As Crawford continues expanding its presence in the United States, the company is looking for an experienced sales professional to take ownership of the South Florida market and develop the territory for long-term growth.

Position Overview

The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for building and growing Crawford Packaging's South Florida territory.

This is a fully remote, home-based position with regular customer visits throughout the region. The successful candidate will focus on opening new accounts, expanding existing relationships, and selling packaging materials, machinery, automation, and technical solutions to customers across the produce, food-processing, manufacturing, and industrial markets.

The South Florida territory will be fully owned by this representative, providing a high level of autonomy, visibility, and earning potential. The current sales team is lean, allowing the selected candidate to work closely with leadership and play a meaningful role in the company's continued U.S. expansion.

There is also a clear pathway into a leadership or management position as the territory and sales team grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for the South Florida market
  • Build the territory through cold outreach, referrals, networking, industry events, and in-person customer visits
  • Identify and secure new B2B customers across produce, food processing, manufacturing, warehousing, and industrial markets
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposals, negotiation, closing, and account development
  • Meet with customers to understand their production processes, packaging requirements, operational challenges, and growth plans
  • Recommend packaging materials, machinery, automation, and technical solutions based on each customer's needs
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers in procurement, operations, production, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and senior leadership
  • Conduct customer presentations, site assessments, product demonstrations, and solution reviews
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, pricing recommendations, and account-growth plans
  • Expand existing accounts by identifying additional product, equipment, and service opportunities
  • Coordinate with internal technical, customer-service, operations, and leadership teams
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, opportunity, pipeline, and forecasting information
  • Track territory performance, market trends, competitors, and new business opportunities
  • Meet or exceed assigned revenue, profitability, new-account, and territory-growth objectives
  • Travel regularly throughout South Florida
  • Travel to Canada for initial training and occasional company meetings

Required Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of B2B sales, territory management, account management, or business-development experience
  • Proven success developing new business and growing a sales territory
  • Experience managing the complete sales cycle and closing complex B2B opportunities
  • Strong prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage the territory with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable building a market rather than solely maintaining an existing book of business
  • Strong consultative sales approach and ability to ask detailed discovery questions
  • Experience developing long-term relationships with operational and executive-level decision-makers
  • Strong organization, follow-up, pipeline-management, and forecasting skills
  • Comfortable working remotely while spending significant time in the field
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must reside in Florida and be able to regularly cover the South Florida territory
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to travel to Canada when required

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred:

  • Packaging machinery
  • Packaging automation
  • Food-packaging equipment
  • Flexible packaging
  • Corrugated or protective packaging
  • Films, labels, trays, containers, or consumable packaging materials
  • Capital equipment
  • Food-processing equipment
  • Commercial or industrial machinery
  • Material-handling or production-line solutions

Experience selling into the following markets would also be highly valuable:

  • Produce growers, packers, and distributors
  • Food processors and manufacturers
  • Supermarkets and commercial food operations
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Warehousing and distribution centres
  • Industrial customers

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced, growth-focused sales professional who enjoys building a territory and developing business from the ground up.

They are naturally curious, engaged during customer conversations, and comfortable asking detailed questions to understand operational needs. They have a strong hunter mentality, take accountability for results, and can work independently without requiring constant direction.

The successful candidate will also have the leadership ability and commercial judgment to take on greater responsibility as the South Florida territory and U.S. sales team continue to expand.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $90,000–$135,000 USD , depending on experience
  • Uncapped monthly commission and profit-sharing structure
  • Incentive compensation tied directly to territory growth
  • Opportunity to earn approximately 15% on qualifying growth
  • Strong performers have the potential to earn significantly above target compensation
  • Performance and sustained territory growth may contribute to future base-salary increases
  • $6,000 annual car allowance
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Fully remote, home-based work environment
  • Company-paid travel to Canada for initial training
  • Full ownership of the South Florida territory
  • Direct access to leadership and technical support
  • Clear pathway into a future leadership or management role

Training and Onboarding

The selected candidate will be flown to Canada for company-paid training and onboarding.

Training will include:

  • Meeting the leadership and sales teams
  • Learning the packaging-materials portfolio
  • Understanding the company's machinery and automation capabilities
  • Reviewing customer applications and technical solutions
  • Learning internal quoting, sales, and account-management processes
  • Receiving the product knowledge required to confidently develop the South Florida market
