Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab Angio Holding unit is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures. This role involves pre- and post-procedural patient care, monitoring, and documentation within the electronic medical record system. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes in a fast-paced, specialized environment. A minimum of two years' experience in a pre/post procedural area is required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients before and after cardiac, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status during pre- and post-procedural phases.
• Document patient care and procedural information accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the Angio Holding unit, including seven patient bays.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies promptly and effectively.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a pre/post procedural nursing area.
• Basic knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiology, cardiovascular, and interventional radiology procedures.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation, preferably EPIC.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab or similar interventional setting.
• Additional certifications related to cardiovascular nursing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient and team collaboration.

Special Considerations:

• Work is performed in a specialized procedural holding area requiring adherence to sterile and safety protocols.
• May require standing for extended periods and responding to urgent patient needs.
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple patients.

Scheduling:

• Day shifts from 05:30 to 18:00, three days per week.
• Staffing typically includes three registered nurses per shift, occasionally four.
