Job Description

We need your talent, motivation, and vision as a Senior Software Engineer to join our Long Island team. We are actively seeking experienced Software Engineers with a minimum of four years of experience and a range of skills. The Software Engineer will apply her/his skills to developing high-quality, real-time embedded software for fielded electronics platforms. BAE Systems in Greenlawn, NY has recently been awarded new programs and is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth. We are seeking an engaged software leader who is passionate about the craft of software engineering, has a desire to mentor new engineers, and who can partner with other engineering disciplines to create a supportive team environment. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Must be a US Citizen and hold an active Secret clearance
  • 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other scientific degree with strong software content
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Ada
  • Foundation in object-oriented design and implementation principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills that translate to working, maintainable software
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with Real-time Embedded Software Development
  • Experience with Agile Development and DevSecOps
  • Experience developing on Windows/Unix/Linux Operating Systems
  • Experience using software tools like Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
  • Experience with Containers including Docker or Kubernetes
  • Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Knowledge
  • Experience with DO-178 Process
  • Desire to lead technical teams
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $138120 - $234840 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
